Reprogram Your Mind Toward Positive Energy
E.F.T (Emotional Freedom Technique)
Emotional Freedom Technique!
I was introduced to EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) technology during a seminar hosted by Jack Canfield. And became a fan of this technique after being able to release a huge phobia about public speaking in a matter of minutes.
Since that day, I have been using EFT Tapping to release fears and other breakdowns for myself and my clients with incredible results.
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) commonly known as tapping, is a form of psychological acupressure that combines elements of cognitive therapy with physical stimulation of certain acupuncture points. It is often used to manage stress, anxiety, physical pain, and emotional issues.
Here's how EFT tapping works:
1. Identify the Issue
First, the person focuses on a specific problem, such as stress, anxiety, or a physical ailment. Being mindful of this issue helps set the intention for the tapping session.
2. Rate the Intensity
On a scale of 0 to 10, the individual rates the emotional or physical intensity of the problem. This step provides a reference point to assess progress throughout the process.
3. Set an Affirmation Statement
A key part of EFT is repeating a positive affirmation while tapping. This usually follows a format like:
“Even though I [describe the problem], I deeply and completely accept myself.”
This helps acknowledge the issue while fostering self-acceptance.
4. Tap on Meridians
Using fingertips, the person taps on specific acupressure points on the body while repeating the affirmation. These points are:
- The top of the head
- Eyebrow (inner edge)
- Side of the eye
- Under the eye
- Under the nose
- Chin (below the lip)
- Collarbone
- Under the arm (about 4 inches down from the armpit)
Tapping stimulates the body's meridians, or energy pathways, similar to acupuncture, helping to release blockages and restore balance to the body’s energy flow.
5. Reassess the Intensity
After completing a round of tapping, the individual rates the intensity of the issue again. If necessary, further rounds are performed until the intensity significantly decreases.
The idea behind EFT is that unresolved emotional issues can disrupt the body’s energy system, leading to physical and psychological distress. By tapping on the acupressure points while focusing on these emotions, EFT helps release energy blockages, leading to improved emotional and physical well-being.
