Valentine’s Self Love!

A few weeks ago, I met with some friends at a gathering. The topic of Valentine’s Day came up, and it was fascinating to hear the different reactions from everyone in the group.

One woman shared that she felt sad because she didn’t have a special man in her life and had no plans for Valentine’s Day. Her words brought back memories of how I used to feel before meeting my husband. I remembered the longing to share the day with someone special—someone to call my Valentine. I believed I needed someone outside of myself to feel loved. Looking back, I realize how mistaken I was to wish for something that wasn’t meant to appear instantly. The Universe wasn’t going to drop someone into my life simply because I longed for it. In reality, my thoughts and feelings were creating loneliness and self-doubt. It was a painful cycle.

Lately, I’ve been reflecting on how this scenario might feel in today’s world. With so many uncertainties in life and Valentine’s Day approaching, feelings of loneliness could be even more intense for those longing for a special connection. But what if the happiness we crave from others already exists within us?

Today, I am deeply grateful for the special person in my life. Yet, the truth is, I found him when I was already in love with life and at peace within myself. I was genuinely happy before we met.

Love always starts from within. When we cultivate self-love, compassion, and appreciation for who we are without judgment, we attract the right people into our lives.

When joy radiates from within us, we naturally draw in those who resonate with our spirit. It’s our energy and authenticity that create meaningful connections. True commitment stems from love’s purest form—the love we give and share from the heart.

So, can you celebrate Valentine’s Day without a romantic partner? The answer is a resounding YES!

Valentine’s Day can be a beautiful opportunity to cherish and celebrate who you are. Let’s make enjoying our own company a priority. Celebrate yourself from the inside out—with or without a Valentine. Fill your heart with the joy of love, and then share it freely with everyone around you. As a wise man once said, "Love is an inside job." The more love you give, the more love you’ll receive.

Here are a few ideas to nurture self-love: • Write down what you appreciate about yourself. • Meet your needs without waiting for someone else to do it. • Read positive affirmations four times a day. • Set aside time to do something you enjoy. • Nourish yourself every day—body, mind, and soul. • Keep a gratitude journal and write down what you love about yourself.

To create self love, practice this simple exercise a few times a day and feel the difference in your body, instantly.

Close your eyes, put your hands over your heart, think of someone or something you love and feel the warmth of that love throughout your body.

A few more ideas on how to create Self Love:

•Write in your gratitude journal what you love about yourself

•Get your needs met

•Read positive affirmations (4 times a day)

•Set time aside to do something you like

•Everyday do something that nourishes you

Wishing you a beautiful Valentines day filled with Self Love.
