What's Unconditional Love got to do with healing grief?

Unconditional love, is an amazing concept, isn't it?  I've always wondered about loving without conditions and thought it was just a nice concept until I was introduced to "Love for No Reason" written by Marci Shimoff with Carol Kline by my wonderful friend Pamela.

"Love for No Reason" book on CD's quickly became my daily commute companions. Every morning while driving to work I was mesmerized by the stories of the Love Luminaries' heroism.  I fell in love with every one of them as they opened up their hearts to love after facing the most devastating situations and learned the most important lessons of their lives.  They were able to create a new life full of miracles, abundance and fulfillment.

The scientific aspects of loving for no reason.

Unconditional love is the highest frequency of vibration there is.  The more you experience Love for No Reason, the more habituated you become to living at a high energetic vibration, and the greater your effect on the world around you.

As I listened to the positive and healing effects of love on the body, on our Chakras and how it can raise our vibration and well being, the more I saw the connection of this amazing gift with healing grief.

What’s unconditional love got to do with healing grief? I think plenty!

Our normal reaction to grief is closing our hearts to ourselves, other people, and in most cases to love.  Perhaps subconsciously we believe that by shutting the door to love, living in darkness and sadness of grief we are protecting ourselves from heartbreak.  We may think that we deserve to be unhappy because of our life situations.  Then there is the belief that by holding onto our grief, we’re holding onto the memories of our departed loved ones, or the job we no longer have, or the marriage that ended in divorce.

Perhaps punishing ourselves will keep us connected to our loved one or it may bring us closer to the job we love and the relationship we are longing for.  But are these thoughts really true?  Does life work this way?

I was faced with my own painful thoughts while pursuing healing grief over loss of my son.  Bringing love to my inner critic and seeking support from the angels around me helped me cut through and release these thoughts at every step of the way.  Letting go of  my limiting beliefs and inner fears has brought me closer to connecting more with my son spiritually, it has allowed me to send him my love and receive his wisdom.

Living in a state of grief and sadness closes the door to everything that is vibrant and alive, it keeps us in darkness and cuts us off from life.

Love brings us up to our highest energetic levels, connects us with a life line that helps us let go while opening room for more living with freedom, deeper breathing and allowing the gifts of joy and happiness to come into our world.

Read "Love for No Reason" and see the magic happen as you do the exercises in the book.
